Video Tutorial: Scrapbooking in Lightroom

Finally as promised on this show, a tutorial to give you a sneak peek of how my workflow is working to do scrapbooking inside Lightroom. I’m looking forward to your comments. 
You can download the Lightroom template here – I’ll leave it up until the end of December 2010. So if you are reading this post after that date, my apologies – stay tuned for my class.
Oh My GOODNESS! Kayla – you’re such a tease! But really you’ve been way busy getting this class set up. I feel like I’m a sponge every time you do a blog post or video, I find myself soaking it all in. This is one of the few subjects (or the way you present it) just makes sense to me. Some people may sleep on the sidewalk outside a store for days waiting in line for the next cool gadget, not me. BUT I do believe (no I know) I’ll be the first one waiting in line for this class! Any ideas when it will be released???

Okay, I’ve watched both videos and experimented with your template. Here are my questions: Are you going to continue to convert png files to psd format so that you can access all digital scrapbooking supplies within Lightroom? On the templates, is there a way to eliminate the page border so that in essence you have a borderless file? I know that you can choose more than just white, black or gray. I used red just to experiment. I didn’t have the white border between photos, the photos were actually touching one another when I printed to file. I really like borderless pages. Since you can drag paper and assign it behind the photos, is there a way to drag an overlay, i.e. the type from Ali Edwards, so that it can lay on top without a white fill. In Photoshop, they are on a transparent background. I got the overlay on top but couldn’t see below. What would one have to do to just place it, is it possible within Lightroom. Her work is very simple like this often with just an overlay or word art. Would those still have to be placed in Photoshop or could they be dragged and placed on top of the page? I did make a template, it isn’t hard at all, but there are definitely limitations over what I can do in Photoshop.
The tip to put your working files in a collection is great. I’ll have to do that rather than flagging them. I’ve asked a lot of questions, but someone is bound to ask in class, and I hope this will help you prepare. I’m looking forward to your class, hoping to learn more about Lightroom’s develop module. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to do everything in just one program!!!

Would LOVE to know what happened to the Scrapbooking with Lightroom class?? I am in the process of organizing all my materials via your class on Lightroom and would LOVE to be able to use it and scrap simply in Lightroom instead of bringing everything into Photoshop. THANKS!
I had two tutorials on it in the Lightroom class – one post after another. Honestly I use Lightroom for the little things and embellish in Photoshop still. Hope that helps!
Can the templates we buy from Desighner Digital be used in LR…ie the Ali E ones ?

No – they still have to be used in Photoshop or PSE.
I’ve found your workflow for organizing digi supplies in Lightroom, but now you suggest not to do it. What do you now recommend? I have elements and Lightroom. I am soon to be getting the Silhouette machine, so I will need my png files. Any suggestions?
