The Write Words Are In Your Heart
By DS101 on in Scrapbook Layouts with No Comments
“The poetry and the songs that you are supposed to write, I believe are in your heart. You just have to open up your heart and not be afraid to get them out.” ~Judy Collins
For this particular layout the words came first. Then it was a matter of finding a photo and pulling it together. If I wouldn’t have written this down when I got home that day, the memory would never have been as fresh or clear.
A few things that facilitate journaling from the heart:
- Keep a notebook or something you can write feelings, thoughts and sayings in while they are fresh.
- Don’t be afraid to write and let things sit to incubate – there was almost a month between my journaling and layout for this project.
- If you want write journaling that excavates below the surface, write about whatever comes to your mind for at least ten minutes everyday. Seriously – the things that will come through you will be amazing. If you want some easy prompts to get started I’ve found these to be very inspiring.
I’d really love to hear about your layouts. Have you had layouts where the journaling comes first? Link us up in the comments!
