On A Personal Note

We moved into our new home just two weeks ago Saturday. It’s been a bit of an adventure to say the least. This past weekend I was finally able to unpack most of my office and get things put back together. It is a great feeling considering I’ve been without a fully functioning office since May.

Moving into a new home is adventure enough, but combine two floods in the first ten days of living here and well, that pretty much sums up our experience. The first night it was a clogged utility drain that resulted in a tiny flood we were able to contain pretty quick. Fast forward nine days and a faulty landscaping valve flooded our basement.

Move + Flood + Everyday Life + Work = One Tired Mama.

We are hopeful that our builder will make it right – time will tell. Good/bad news is there will be contractors in and out of my house for the next few weeks. This week has been a lot about practicing patience and choosing to have hope even when things are completely out of our power to make right.

On the bright side we’re finally getting settled and this weekend I finished refinishing a hutch for my office – which felt awesome…
