The open in layers option doesn’t preserve the transparency. Quite honestly, I don’t think Adobe was thinking of PNG files when they created Lightroom – we are a bit on the bleeding edge there! I was a PC ACDSee CS2 user and switched to Mac CS5 and Lightroom 3. Your tutorials have made it a smoother adjustment. Thanks-I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge.
I have one problem-when I use the “Edit in-Open as Layers” from LR to PS the png files I changed to psd open in the layers with a white background. If I use the “Edit in–Edit in PS CS5″ option they open as they should with the clear background but in the multiple files-which takes more steps to bring them into my layout file. Is there a setting I have wrong or is this just how it is with LR & PS?
